The application process varies depending on the state where you plan to open your school. In general, the new institution application process includes the following steps:  
 

• Prepare a business plan and projected budget.

• Register the school corporation.

• Lease or own a campus location.

• Obtain city/state occupational certificate.

• Secure financial resources.

• Open the school's bank account.

• Purchase instruction and operation equipment.

• Secure services and affiliation agreements.

• Obtain board approvals when applicable.

• Hire faculty and administrative personnel. 

• Submit the application, exhibits, and fees​.

• Satisfy all application review requests.  

• The commission votes and grants the license.
